Marco Polo in the Yuan Dynasty
Marco Polo was a European man who travelled all over China and lived in the Yuan Dynasty during its early days for 17 yrs. He served as Kublai Khan's court offical for 15-17 years and helped shape decisions in the empire. He was also an emissary and was sent on many political journeys to other countries to gather information and report back.

Marco Polo wrote a book about his adventures in China and gave eyewitness accounts of certain cities and geographical features. This helped historians greatly in their recording of China's history. It also sparked interest in Europeans to move to China.
